Went last night, very poor quality, selection not good and some food had a congealed look. Spent today feeling like yuk. Wouldn't go back and suggest any reader thinks carefully before parting with cash.

I would definately agree with this review. Do not try to order too many side dishes as they are all very generous portions. Excellent staff and a very large menu with many dish's I have not seen in an Indian restaraunt before.

I arrived Oakdale, Poole in July, 2008 from Brunei, South East Asia. Chinese foods is what I miss most other than the weather. Naturally, my family look out for Chinese Takeaway, here are about 5 Chinese Takeaway located within 10 minutes walking distance from my house, along Fernside Road, Poole, Dorset. So far, the best and most authentic Malaysian Chinese Takeaway is Ming Hong Chinese Takeaway, at 47 Vicarage Road. 01202 671 787. Sweet and Sour Chicken, Hong Kong Style, definitely the best like home. It's not starchy and the chicken is nice and crispy and freshly make. The sauce is just like what I used to at home.

I challenge all the Chinese food lover to try out Ming Hong Chinese Takeaway, You won't regret it. The price is good and reasonable. The staff is friendly and understand British English.

Update - The last time I went there about 2 weeks ago I was VERY dissapointed.

The food was barely even warm to the point that if there had have been a microwave available I would have heated up my own food!

I told the manager when I went to pay and he was rude and barely even acknowledgled me - furthermore they tried to charge me for my little lad who did not even eat - There is another Chinese Buffet at Dolphin Quays on Poole quay - go there instead.

I decided to celebrate my birthday in Tiger Tiger on 21st Nov 08. I was really disappointed by the horrible service we received.
Firstly, I went to the venue 2 weeks prior to my birthday so that I could select and book a booth. I even signed a document stating my table selection when paying for my booth. However, upon arrival I was given a much smaller table and was told that probably this was a misunderstanding. No one even apologised.
Secondly, a friend of mine entered with us and had to go out for 15 minutes (this happened around 8pm). He politely told the security he would be coming back in 15minutes but was not let in afterwards. His wife had to leave because he was not let in. We did not get a reason of why he was not let in.
Thirdly, two of my friends were not let in even though they were very dressed up.
Fourthly, my boyfriend's mobile was stolen. The security guard took my number and promised to call me after looking at the CCTV. No one called me.
No one apologised for anything! Thanks a lot Tiger Tiger for turning my birthday party into a such a horrible experience!

I'm not sure anyone would give a restaurant another go after being served raw chicken and dark brown cold chips Lisa - where's the motivation?? Also I don't see what time of day we visit would make any difference either do you?

Thanks for your comment though Lisa.

I have to say I had an outstanding meal at Cranberries. I'm sorry your experience was so bad. Try them on a weekday evening, that's when I went - I got great service and the food was absolutley perfect. I'm definatly going back

My wife and I have been to da vinci's several times eating meals on both floors the restaurant is situated right on the quay with nice views out over Poole harbour. Down stairs is a much more compact and noisier than the 1st floor, we found the waiters to be very friendly but the only problem we found was that you get the main meal but they do not follow up quickly enought with the veg etc. Upstairs is very different very quite and you get your full servings with no waiting.
We would fully reccomend this retaurant.
